Ellon Musk is one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time. He was born on the 28th of June, 1971 in South Africa. He learned to code when he was just 12, early-developed computer skills are really common among today’s IT gurus… He started his first company, Zip2, when he was just 24. After selling it and cashing in $22 million, he continued with co-founding X.com (the predecessor of PayPal). PayPal was a huge success, in 2002, eBay bought the payment company for $1.5 billion (Musk personally cashed in $165 million for his share). But this was not enough for Ellon… I don’t know, maybe he was just wondering what to do with a hundred million of dollars, but the same year he founded his third company – SpaceX. This was not satisfying for him, too. In 2004, Musk co-founded Tesla Motors, an innovative company building the so famous electric cars. Musk is a multi-faceted business leader with a history of innovation, disruption, and advancements in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and space technology. As a child, he was inspired by technology and was fascinated with computers and space exploration. He moved to Canada, then to Silicon Valley, and in 1995, at the age of 24, founded Zip2, a web software company. He sold Zip2 in 1999 for $307 million, then founded X.com, an online financial services company. X.com merged with online banking service Confinity and the combined company became known as PayPal, which Musk was the majority owner of at the time of its sale to eBay in 2002.
Musk’s ambitions aren’t limited to just the web. He created SpaceX in 2002 with the goal of making space exploration more affordable. Since then, he’s made it his mission to develop and launch rockets capable of carrying payloads to Earth orbit and beyond. After several failed attempts at landing rockets back on the ground (a maneuver designed to help lower the cost of launches), Musk finally succeeded in December 2015. This helped establish SpaceX as a reliable rocket provider, and it made Elon Musk the first person to land a rocket back on Earth safely and successfully.
In addition to reclaiming space exploration, Elon Musk has also made efforts to promote sustainability by way of his electric car company, Tesla. The company’s models are some of the most efficient electric cars on the market, and they are more affordable than most other electric cars. Musk has also proposed an infrastructure of electric vehicle charging stations called the Supercharger Network, which allows Tesla owners to quickly and conveniently recharge their cars. In addition, Musk proposed the Hyperloop, a high-speed transportation system that would enable travel between two locations faster than a traditional train.
Elon Musk is an inspiration to many in the tech world. His ideas are bold and often unconventional, yet have the potential to change the world for the better. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a commitment to renewable energy and transportation, and although he faces criticism for his meddling in certain industries, there’s no denying his influence and success in the world of technology.
